Designation of Quality, awarded in accordance with decree 33/1983 issued by the Department of Agriculture, Farming and Fisheries of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Local Goverment), to guarantee the origin and quality of food products.

The Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Foods is responsible for governing the use of the Specific Designation "Arroz del Delta del Ebro", in terms of its national and international promotion and defence (Order of 11-12-1991 and State Official Gazette no. 12 of 14-01-1992).

The European Community, working through the European Commission for Agriculture and Rural Development, certifies that the designation "ARROZ DEL DELTA DEL EBRO" was registered on 21/06/1996 as a PROTECTED GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION in the list of Protected Designations of Origin and Protected Geographical Indications (DOP-IGP).
