The Regulatory Council is an independent organisation with authorisation from the Department of Agriculture, Farming and Fisheries of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Local Government) to certify the rice covered by the Protected Geographical Indication.

The Regulatory Council has maximum responsibility for the application of the "Arroz del Delta del Ebro" Protected Geographical Indication quality policy, and requires that the standards specified in this policy and by the quality system be met by all those involved in certifying the products.
